Journal

I have just been looking at other peoples blogs and become fascinated by journals. I was reading Barbs Craft therapy and the one she has created is beautiful. I also looked at link to another blog by Kelly Kilmer a life made in hands workshop absolutely beautiful. This has given me inspiration to create my own. It was suggested that I create one in the past. I have kept a dairy and made various notes but I think a journal would be more creative combining words with images. I have loads of materials I can use cant wait to get started!

I took this photograph in my Mums garden. Im really pleased with it as it was just a quick snap. I love drawing mandalas and to me this is a natural one created by nature and my Mums care and attention:).

Today I have been working on my little table. I had been struggling to think of what to use for the wings, I left it for a while and played with some other materials created a couple of mandals in between. This morning while looking through my craft bits I found some gold seed beads and decicded to use these.

Cup Cake Delight!

Experimenting with hand drawn patterns, using various coloured pens in sketchbook. Full of new ideas with this pattern so I will keep on experimenting:) Need a new sketchbook.

Been busy experimenting with hand drawn patterns. This has taken up a lot of my time. Also taken up jogging, my daughters boyfriend is running the London Marathon next year so daughter and me are following the training programme for it. Hoping to take part in a charity race later in the year:). Going well just finishing week two and another 22 to go!

Drawing for Doodle Day based on a tree outside my bedroom window the seed was planted by the birds. Still waiting to finish of drawing of patterns waiting for pens to arrive. Be here next week now :( so i cannot complete it. They will be my third packet of pens, I set myself a real challenge with this piece its taken me a long time to complete. :0. Patience is a virtue!

Busy Busy Busy

I have been really busy the last couple of weeks preparing and framing work for the Kenilworth Festival. I have put in five pieces the two Embroidered mats the Angel , Gold Butterflies and Hand Drawn Patterns. Hoping to get photos tomorrow. Exhibition is on until Sunday at the Holiday Inn in Kenilworth. Still working on the hand drawn patterns that I started about three weeks ago hoping to finish it this week! Then start on another and start a new embroidery mat. Oh and I must do a doodle for doodle day. So much to do!:)

Started a new drawing taken from my sketchbook. Going to cover the sheet of paper A1, using Sakura Aqualip pens which have a sheen to them when dry I love these pens as the colours are vibrant Fab!

Hand drawn patterns onto watercolour paper A1 size. Using various coloured pens. This has taken a couple of weeks to complete. I worked on it apart from two days when I had to have my wisdom tooth out ouch:( painful and bruised:( when this has eased no more toothache yippee:). Anyway its finished now thinking about exhibiting this and the embroidery. I have produced loads of work over the last few months so a bit to choose from. Will start on a new piece only using a couple of colours. My son has suggested I get in contact with wallpaper companies as he thinks this would good as wallpaper thanks Jack:)x. It has been suggested before:). Not sure how I go about it though:0?
Oh and I must draw the Doodle for the Day which is Kitchen Chaos this should be fun.

Started drawing again, I am fascinated by Mandalas so have been drawing some over the weekend using various colours this one is based on the sun. I will try to see if i can embroider one using felt another project along with the other projects i have yet to start :).

Doodles Ted and a Daisy

Joined a blog yesterday called Doodle Day its great, these are my two creations so far, there will be lots more no doubt this is great gets the creativity flowing again starting to think about what to draw next.........

I am going to have to stop creating for a couple of days my creativity has come to a stand still
:( hope it does not last too long....................! Bought fabric remnants today but not sure what I am going to do with it all at the mo. I will do some knitting and hope this sets of some ideas sketch book and camera at the ready! Hubs is not happy as I have taken over the art room, he has a small area for his computer thats all he needs :) where as I need alot more space well I would like the whole room really!

I have been working on this piece over the weekend using Sakura gel pens they are great to work with, the colours are really bright! I have added some butterflies cut out of fabric .I am pleased with effect. I have aslo taken some of the patterns from the mandala that I drew a while ago.

New Project Weaving!

Trying out my peg loom using wool this is a practice piece. I am going to make my mats to embroider on from scratch so my work will be completely created by me. Creating the mats will not take to long I think? Very easy to use this one should only take a couple of days to complete see how it goes.:)

Completed mat, hand embroidery using felt sequins, beads, glitter. Taken just over a week to complete. This mat is larger than the others so more work required, the idea is based on the hand drawn patterns using a different method. I am going to display this in my living room on the wall. So I will take some more pictures! :). I love working with different fabrics and materials and finding bargains of craft bits in the process. My daughter says this piece makes her feel happy as it is bright and colourful full of love Thanks Laz xx:)

Another Weekend of Pleasure!

I have been busy buying cheap wool and looking for bits for the mat, which is nearly finished I have not been well due to having a cold so this has delayed me for a short period of time! :(. Anyway had a great day yesterday went to a car boot and bought threads, felt and wool which was a great buy cheap! cheap1 cheap!:). After Mum and me went to the Hobbycraft and Sewing for Pleasure show at the NEC in Birmingham brill! Bought lots more goodies and I bought a peg loom which I am really excited about, creating my own mats from scratch ! cost a little more but I love it! trying a new craft! more threads and more threads some samples of Aida sequins and beads no glitter as I have loads. So I am going to be really busy have lots of ideas about how to take my work further! Suggested to Hubs that I would like to hold an exhibition of my work his reply was Yes! daughter had suggested this a while ago so we will see! :O.

Weekend Pleasure!

Its been a fun weekend, going to three jumble sales with Mum and sis ( I love them) looking for wool, for my extreme knitting blanket! I did get some wool but that will be for the next one........ not the right colour!:). Its great getting bargain's also looking for bits and pieces for the embroidery mats, a couple of things. . The weather has been good so been out with hubs and the dog to local park. This gives me a break from all the creative work! refreshes the brain :). Today out with Hubs again looking at Laptops for me as I am going to learn about creating a website to display our work hubs is into photography. Got back and continued working on mat coming on well hope to have finished it by the end of this week all been well! Also going to try and work on this drawing that I have started using biro and sakura gel pens they are great to use.
